The rain interrupted yesterday’s match of India vs Pakistan. In the discussion, experts were discussing the biggest event of world cricket. As this World Cup is happening in India former India player Sanjay Manjrekar and former Pakistan captain Waqar Younis were discussing the golden moments of India’s World Cup winning moments. While having a candid conversation, the duo discussed who would be the successor of Yuvraj Singh in the World Cup 2023.
Yuvraj’s role in India’s World Cup winning in 2011 is nothing less than a heroic achievement. In that tournament, this legendary left-handed batter scored 362 runs and was named player of the tournament. Not just with the bat he was a true all-rounder. In the 2011 World Cup, he took 15 wickets for India. Now 2023 World Cup is around the corner and again it will be hosted by India. After 12 years India is still searching for the perfect deputy for Yuvraj Singh.
Yesterday when the India vs Pakistan game was delayed by the rain, a discussion was going on in the studio. This discussion grabs the attention of the viewers. Former Indian player Sanjay Manjreker and former Pakistan captain Waqar Younis were debating over Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja will be the perfect successor of Yuvraj Singh in the 2023 World Cup.
Younis explained
Younis supported both batters but praised Hardik Pandya more. He analyzed Hardik’s innings against Pakistan and perfectly explained how this destructive batter would be fitted for the number 6 or number 7 position. Younis added,” He played like a champion. He took his time and when the time was right, he pushed his natural game.” He praised Hardik by comparing him with MS Dhoni. In the last India vs. Pakistan game Hardik made a 138-run partnership along with Ishan Kishan to keep India in the game.
Manjrekar was not pleased
But Manjrekar was not pleased with these batters. He feels no one can replace Yuvraj Singh. He said,” Yuvraj is arguably India’s best white ball batter. He could win games and was in a different league. Hardik and Jadeja, with due respect, are not quite there.” It seems like Waqar Younis was not happy with the statement. He questioned Manjrekar Why isn’t Hardik? Younis believes Hardik also has that kind of all-rounder ability. He has the potential to contribute a lot of things to the team.
The World Cup is not that far. Every team will compete with their full strength as the Indian team. It is an interesting thing to see who will be the black horde for India.
