Bumrah Conquering the T20 World Cup:
Team India started their T20 World Cup journey in an incredible way. They started the tournament with a dazzling win against Ireland and continued their form straight into the Super Eight stage. Since the beginning, Jasprit Bumrah has been one reason for the team’s success. On American soil, the speedster conquered and dominated the opponent. He secured 2 wickets by conceding 6 runs against Ireland. Against Pakistan, he conceded 14 runs and secured three wickets. He carried his exciting form to the Super Eight stage.
In a stellar display against Afghanistan during their first Super Eight match, Jasprit Bumrah dazzled with his exceptional bowling. Over his four-over spell, he conceded only seven runs, bowled a maiden, and claimed three crucial wickets: Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Hazratullah Zazai, and Najibullah Zadran. His brilliance didn’t stop there; in the ongoing tournament, the ace speedster has already taken eight wickets in five matches, boasting an impressive average of 6.50, showcasing his formidable prowess on the field.
Manjrekar’s Praise to Bumrah:
The former cricketer praised likening his T20 World Cup performance to Sunil Narine’s brilliance at Eden Gardens in the IPL. He highlighted Bumrah’s precision and impact, drawing a parallel to Narine’s dominance. He said, “Jasprit Bumrah is performing in the USA and West Indies just like Sunil Narine at Eden Gardens during the IPL. There were many matches when we had not conceded the boundary and look at the difference between him and the couple of other seamers.”
Later he added, “They were also an international standard, but quite rightly I mean, he’s looking even better when you look at all the top-class bowlers around the world. There’s a big margin between them and Bumrah and India is so fortunate to have him in your playing 11.”
There are two more encounters left for India in the Super Eight stage. On June 22, India will face Bangladesh and on June 24, they will lock horns against Australia. Their exciting form is making them one of the biggest contenders for the upcoming stages of the T20 World Cup 2024.
