Mayank Agarwal to Lead Karnataka in First Two Ranji Trophy Clashes for 2024-25 Season

As the tournament is raising the its curtains on October 11, the fans are anticipating another thriller edition. Before stepping into the tournament, the Karnataka State Cricket Association announced their strong squad. 

As the new season approaches, Mayank Agarwal is all set to lead his state team in the first two rounds. India opener Mayank Agarwal has been appointed as Karnataka’s captain for the first two Ranji Trophy matches against Madhya Pradesh and Kerala. Meanwhile, pacer Prasidh Krishna will continue his return to top-level cricket through the domestic season. This opportunity will help Krishna regain form after his injury.

Manish Pandey will serve as Karnataka’s vice-captain. The team will begin its Ranji Trophy campaign with a group match against Madhya Pradesh from October 11 to 14, 2024, in Indore. They will then face Kerala in Bengaluru from October 18 to 21, 2024.

After being injured in the South Africa tour last year, he was out of cricket for long. His incredible performance can pave his way to India’s squad it the long Test schedule. 

Devdutt Padikkal, who made his Test debut for India earlier this year, will be keen to continue his form after a solid performance in the Duleep Trophy. Pacer Vysakh Vijayakumar, holding a BCCI pace bowlers’ contract, is eager to leave a mark with another strong showing.
