Mitchell Marsh Ready To Bowl

Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has declared he is prepared to bowl limitless overs in the Gabba Test against India. Despite managing back stiffness earlier this year, Marsh has expressed his confidence in his fitness and praised the medical staff for taking his care.

Marsh had faced consistent back issues since Australia’s white-ball tour of the UK in September. There also he bowled sparingly. Although, doubts arose after the first Test in Perth. There he had bowled 17 overs but felt difficulty. Marsh is now feeling confident at his fitness.

“I’ll try and be ready to bowl as much as Patty [Cummins] needs me,” Marsh stated. “Our allrounders haven’t bowled a lot in Australia recently, but I’m thankful for our medical staff and coaches who gave me the space to get ready.”

Marsh has also reflected on an unusual incident in the Adelaide Test. When he walked after believing he edged a delivery from Ravichandran Ashwin, only he replayed to show no contact with the ball.

“I thought I smashed it,” Marsh admitted humorously. “When I saw the replay, my head went straight into my hands, and everyone had a laugh about it.”
