In the 16th over, Starc’s catch drop in Pat Cummis’ shot gave a little hope to the team.

But Mitchell Starc’s catch drop to Pat Cummins’s shot become a moment of relief to the SRH team. 

In the 16th over, Sunil Narine came to bowl. In the fifth delivery of the over, skipper Pat Cummis was on the strike.  Narine opted for a slower delivery, tempting Cummins to aim for the fences. However, Cummins’ shot lacked distance, resulting in a high ball. Starc positioned himself at long-on but failed to secure the catch despite a solid attempt. The missed opportunity provided a significant boost to the SRH team, injecting hope into a crucial moment of the match.

A Nightmare for the Sunrisers:

After 2 months of waiting, the most awaited moment of the IPL 2024 has arrived. After winning the toss, SRH skipper Pat Cummins decided to bat first. But while batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad struggled throughout the first innings. Opener Abhishek Sharma walked away after scoring 2 runs in the first over. On the other hand, Travis Head was dismissed on a golden duck. Those were huge setbacks for the teams.

In front of KKR’s bowling excellence, SRH’s batting lineup just got destroyed. Aiden Markram was dismissed on 20 runs. Nitish Kumar Reddy who batted well throughout the season was dismissed scoring only 13 runs. Klaasen scored 16 runs and walked away. Pat Cummins added 24 runs to the board. On the flip side, KKR bowler Andre Russell secured 3 wickets in 19 runs. Mitchell Starc and Harshit Rana secured 2 wickets each. Other bowlers got one wicket each. They restricted the opponent in just 113 balls.
