Mohammad Shami is Set to Comeback:

In Team India’s pace bowling unit, Mohammad Shami is one of the biggest assets. But he is missing in the squad for a long. Mohammed Shami has been out of action since the 2023 World Cup final on November 19 due to an ankle injury. After undergoing surgery, he has been recovering and rehabilitating at the National Cricket Academy. His injury forced him to miss several important events, including the five-match Test series against England, IPL 2024, the T20 World Cup, and the recent two-match Test series against Bangladesh.

Earlier reports indicated that Shami was set to return to domestic cricket by playing in the Ranji Trophy for Bengal. However, there is growing speculation that the fast bowler could make his international comeback during the upcoming Test series against New Zealand.

Shami has been working rigorously at the NCA. The pacer is giving his best effort to regain full fitness. The Board of Control for Cricket in India is reportedly eyeing the New Zealand Tests as the platform for Shami’s return to international cricket after a prolonged absence.
