Former Pakistani batter and keeper Moin Khan is all optimistic about Pakistan’s entry to the finals in the ongoing Asia Cup. He has urged his men to make the game unbeatable on Sri Lanka’s level.
On seeing Pakistan getting defeated in Ind vs Pak, he has crossed his fingers and longs to see Pakistan beat India in the final faceoff, on Sunday. Pak’s performance against arch-rivals has been disappointing, but now it’s time that they make up for it by emerging victorious against Sri Lanka in their last Super 4 match of the Asia Cup.
Setback Against India
All eyes are now set on the ongoing match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan to see whether either of the two teams make it to the finals.
India has already reached the final stage after securing a commendable victory against Pakistan. The Men in Blue chased an enormous target of 356/2. But Pak wasn’t able to cover up to the required target and instead got defeated by a huge margin of 226 runs , also regarded as one of its heaviest losses against India.
Younis’s dismay over Pakistan’s performance
Unlike Moin Khan’s cheerful approach of Pakistan winning the match, former Pakistani cricketer and captain Younis Khan is all vexed on their conduct and execution of the game. Younis went on to say that Babar’s men will even struggle to beat the Netherlands. Their approach to the game wasn’t good enough and they will have to pay a heavy price to get back in the form, which is possible only by articulating discrete strategies.
Explaining the possibility of seeing an India vs Pakistan match in the finals, Moin firmly stated that the country needs to win today’s match or else Sri Lanka will make it into the finals, provided that their NRR points are higher than Pakistan. However, there are high chances of rain putting the match on a halt. In that case, both the teams will end up sharing 1-1 point each following which Sri Lanka will be seen playing against India in the Asia Cup finals.
