Molineux is Out of Cricket with a Fractured Rib, and Set to Miss the Hundred Along With Grace Harris

The Australian all-rounder Sophie Molineux has faced a setback. During the training session, the all-around faced an injury and suffered a fracture in her rib. That serious injury sidelined him for eight weeks. Because of this, she is all set to be sidelined for almost eight weeks. Grace Haris also sustained an injury which will keep her out of the game for quite some time.

Sophie Molineux and Grace Harris’  Setback:

The Australian cricket faced a double setback. Sophie Molineux has suffered a fractured rib during a training session, sidelining her for up to eight weeks. This injury will keep her out of the Hundred, where she was set to join Manchester Originals. The Australian allrounder may also struggle to be fit in time for the New Zealand series, which precedes the T20 World Cup.

Grace Harris will be absent from the tournament due to a calf strain. She was scheduled to play for London Spirit but will now miss the event. Harris’s injury has ruled her out of this key competition and might affect her availability for the World Cup.

Cricket Australia gave statements on their injury. On Molinuex’s injury, they said, “Molineux suffered an acute rib fracture after being struck by a ball in the chest while batting last week.”

Replacement for the Tournament:

Sophie Molineux made her return to the Australian team in February after dealing with injuries since 2021. She played in a one-off Test against South Africa in Perth and was later named Player of the Series in the T20Is against Bangladesh, taking six wickets at an average of 8.33. Earlier in the tour, she also took 3 for 10 in her return to the ODI team.

Kim Garth will take Sophie Molineux’s spot at Manchester Originals, and Megan Schutt will join the London Spirit squad as a replacement for Grace Harris.
