The ICC T20 World Cup is right off the corner, as it is going to be co hosted by the USA and West Indies and starts on June 1. The first match for the cup is going to be a face-off between Team USA and Canada.
India‘s first match for the series is going to be against Ireland on June 5 in the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. The fan favorite match between India and Pakistan is scheduled for June 9 in the same venue.
Pakistan Squad for T20 World Cup Declared
The Pakistan Cricket Team has announced their 15 member squad for the WT20C. Babar Azam is going to lead the team.

Mohammed Amir’s makes comeback
Despite retiring from International Cricket almost three years ago, Pakistan’s Mohammed Amir had earlier announced his availability to play for Pakistan in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.
The left-arm pacer can be a useful addition to Pakistan’s T20 squad and is expected to be summoned for the team’s camp. Amir stated that he was in discussions with the Pakistan Cricket Board over his comeback.
“I still dream of playing for Pakistan! life brings us to the points where at times we have to reconsider our decisions, There have been a few positive discussions between myself and the PCB where they respectfully made me feel that I was needed and can still play for Pakistan after discussing with family and we’ll wishers I declare that I am available to be considered for upcoming t20WC,” Mohammad Amir said in a post on X.
Nasser Hussain takes jab on Pakistan Cricket Team
Over Amir’s comeback in the team, veteran English cricketer Nasser Hussain has made a remark, indirectly making fun of Amir’s decision to come back to the team after retirement.
Nasser Hussain said, “in Pakistan cricket, you’re never retired for too long, you never act as a captain for long either”.
A right-handed batsman, Hussain scored over 30,000 runs in not less than 650 matches across all first-class and List-A cricket, including 62 centuries.
When Suresh Raina had made fun of Shahid Afridi’s multiple comebacks
Amir is not the only player who has returned to the Pakistan Cricket Team after retirement. Ex-captain Shahid Afridi had returned to the team several times after the announcement of his retirement.Â
Suresh Raina had made a joking remark on the same when asked by reporters if he would ever rejoin the Indian Cricket Team.Â
“Main Suresh Raina hoon. Main Shahid Afridi nahi hoon. Retirement le chuka hoon (I’m Suresh Raina, not Shahid Afridi. I’ve taken retirement),” he said.Â
Raina laughed after the statement and the video had gone viral at the time.
Indian squad for the T20 World Cup
The BCCI had earlier shared the squad for the T20 World Cup back on May 1. The team was selected by a committee that was headed by Ajit Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma was also extensively a part of the selection process.

Reserves: Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan.
