Despite dealing with a long-standing groin injury that impacted his runway speed in Paris, Chopra remains optimistic about targeting the Diamond League Championship in Brussels next month.
The upcoming javelin throw events include Zurich on September 5, followed by the final in Brussels over a week later. Only the top six athletes based on seasonal points will qualify for the final. Chopra currently holds joint-fourth place with seven points, earned from his second-place finish in Doha in May.
Competitive Field Ahead:
Neeraj Chopra clinched victory at the Lausanne Diamond League in both 2022 and 2023, and a win this year would secure a hat-trick. Two years ago, he was crowned Diamond League Champion for the first time, while last year he finished second to Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic.
