New Zealand reclaim the pole position in T20I Rankings

It was a great day on the field for New Zealand as they not only managed to win the T20I series against Windies but also regained the No.1 spot in the T20I Rankings. The 2-0 victory over the Windies meant that the Black Caps rose from the pre-series 3rd rank to the pole position.

Prior to the series, they had a rating of 120 and after winning the first T20I, they displaced India to reach No.2 and the victory in the final match helped them surpass Pakistan with a rating of 126. Not too long ago, New Zealand had occupied the top slot but their 2-1 loss to India made them slip to No.3.

The third and final T20I against Windies was all about Colin Munro who slammed his 3rd T20I century and became the first batsman to do so. His knock of 104 off 53 balls aided the Kiwis to a massive score of 243/5. In reply, the visitors bundled out for 124 handing the hosts a win by 119 runs.

Even though Kane Williamson and his men rose to the top but their position is not secured for too long as they are set to face the No.2 ranked side Pakistan in a 3-T20I series later this month. The Kiwis will have to win the series to ensure they remain at the top or else the men in green will pip them to the peak of the T20I Rankings.
