New Zealand Women to Tour India for Three-Match ODI Series Right After T20 World Cup

But after the ongoing marquee event, another thrilling limited-over series is coming up to make the fans excited. After the current Women’s T20 World Cup in the UAE, New Zealand Women will face India in three One-Day Internationals.

The ODI Series Between India Women and New Zealand Women:

Cricket fans across the globe are enjoying the thrilling ninth edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. All the teams are facing each other in an intense battle. As October 20 will see the blockbuster final match of the marquee event, another thrilling ODI series is lined up to make the fans excited. 

The New Zealand Women’s team is set to travel to India for a three-match ODI series immediately after the T20 World Cup final. After 2015, the New Zealand Women’s team is set to arrive in India for an ODI series. Scheduled for October 24, 27, and 29, these matches will take place in Ahmedabad. This series is part of the ICC Women’s ODI Championship for 2022-25.

the series was postponed last year, due to a packed schedule, as India was hosting both England and Australia. If they reach the final, they will have very little time to prepare for the ODI series. The matches are crucial for both teams as they aim to perform well in this important championship cycle.

In 2025, India is all set to host the thrilling Women’s ODI World Cup in September-October. The upcoming 50-over World Cup in India will feature the hosts and five top-ranked teams that secure direct qualification. The remaining two spots will be filled through a global qualifier. 

Currently, the Indian Women’s team holds the fifth position in the ICC Women’s Championship, with 10 victories from 12 matches. Meanwhile, the New Zealand Women’s team is standing with 8 wins in 16 matches and standing at the sixth spot. 

India’s status as hosts for the World Cup guarantees their qualification, regardless of their performance. For New Zealand, however, this series is critical for securing direct entry into the tournament.
