Nitish Rana’s 61-ball 87 helped Kolkata Knight Riders score 172 for the loss of five wickets. However, apart from Rana, only two notable contributions came from Dinesh Karthik (21*) and Shubman Gill (26). In reply, Ruturaj Gaikwad led the chase for Chennai Super Kings. He scored a fighting 72 off 53 balls followed by 20-ball 38 from Ambati Rayudu and an unbeaten 31 off 11 from Ravindra Jadeja. In 20 overs, Chennai Super Kings completed the chase by losing just four wickets.
