In a thrilling encounter in Multan, Pakistan Women’s cricket team demonstrated their batting prowess by posting their highest-ever total in Women’s T20 Internationals.
The 2nd T20I saw Pakistan, led by captain Fatima Sana, outclassing South Africa with a comprehensive performance to level the three-match series at 1-1. Opting to bat first, Pakistan faced an early setback as Gull Feroza fell for just 10 runs.Â
However, opener Muneeba Ali took charge and played a pivotal role in building the innings.
Accelerating the score to 45/1 in the Powerplay, Muneeba struck a solid 45 off 34 balls, forming a crucial 49-run partnership with Sidra Amin.
The middle overs saw fireworks from Nida Dar and Fatima Sana. Their 60-run partnership in just 38 balls helped Pakistan surge towards a massive total.Â
Nida crossed the 2000-run mark in T20Is with her 29 off 21, while Sana’s unbeaten 37 off 23 ensured Pakistan ended their innings at a daunting 181/4.

Pakistan’s Spin Duo Secures the Win
South Africa Women, in response, struggled to chase down the target as Pakistan’s spin duo, Nashra Sundhu and Sadia Iqbal, bowled superbly.
Iqbal dismissed Tazmin Brits early, and Sundhu took the crucial wicket of Laura Wolvaardt, who was threatening with a quick 36 off 25.
The spinners combined to bowl 24 dot balls, creating pressure on the South African batters. South Africa found themselves in trouble at 88/4 after losing wickets of Anneke Bosch and Nadine de Klerk in successive overs.Â
Despite a late charge by Sune Luus and Chloe Tryon, who put together a spirited 80-run partnership in the final seven overs, South Africa fell short.
Pakistan’s disciplined bowling, especially in the death overs by Diana Baig and Tasmia Rubab, sealed a 13-run win for the hosts.
With this victory, Pakistan Women have not only leveled the series but also sent a strong message ahead of the Women’s T20 World Cup.
