Pakistan’s upcoming T20I series against the Netherlands, originally scheduled for May 2024, has been postponed indefinitely due to scheduling conflicts. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) requested the Netherlands Cricket Board (KNCB) to reschedule the series, citing a crowded calendar. Pakistan, set to travel to Ireland and England after hosting New Zealand in April, faced tight scheduling, leaving little time for the Netherlands series.
KNCB High Performance Manager Roland Lefebrve expressed disappointment about the rescheduling but acknowledged the situation, saying, “We’re obviously disappointed, but of course, we understand the situation and remain optimistic a new window will be found to play the series either at home or away.”
Pakistan, coming off a subpar performance in the World Cup in India, where they won only four of nine matches and finished fifth, will now shift their focus to a two-match Test series against Australia starting on December 14 in Perth. Shan Masood will lead the Test squad as the new captain, succeeding Babar Azam, who stepped down after the World Cup.
With the disappointment of the World Cup campaign, Pakistan aims to regroup and deliver an improved performance against Australia, who are currently the reigning world champions.
