PCB Confirms ENG vs PAK Test Series, All Three Matches to be Held in Multan and Rawalpindi

World cricket is shaken up due to the dilemma regarding the three-match Test series with England. The venues for those matches become a big concern. Previously, it was in talk to move out one Test match to Abu Dhabi. But the Pakistan Cricket Board addressed that concern. The board has announced that Multan and Rawalpindi will host the upcoming three-Test series between Pakistan and England.

The Previous Concerns regarding the Test Series:

The prestigious Champions Trophy is coming back after 2017. After a long, Pakistan is all set to host the upcoming edition of the tournament. Before that, the construction is going on all the stadiums.  Construction work at several cricket stadiums in Pakistan has disrupted the plans for hosting England’s three-Test series. Karachi was initially set to host the second Test, but due to ongoing renovations at the National Stadium, this will no longer be possible.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting in Islamabad from October 15-16 has further complicated matters. With numerous member nation heads arriving, security and accommodation needs make it impossible to host the second Test in Rawalpindi.

As a result, the Pakistan Cricket Board is considering moving one of the Tests out of Pakistan. Abu Dhabi is the preferred alternative if this move becomes necessary.

Test series Will be Held in Pakistan:

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has indicated that Pakistan’s three-Test series against England in October will be held entirely in Pakistan. After inspecting the development work at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, he confirmed that Multan and Rawalpindi will host all three matches.

Mohammad Rafiullah, Naqvi’s spokesperson, confirmed that the England and Wales Cricket Board has approved these venues. The ECB is satisfied with the arrangements in Multan and Rawalpindi for the series.
