Phil Salt‘s season has been disappointing as both captain and batter. The Manchester Originals have lost all five of their games without Jos Buttler, and Salt, who was in good form before the season began, has struggled to perform with the bat.

However, he let his bat do all the talking in last match. Salt quickly judged the short delivery outside off and effortlessly pulled it over deep mid-wicket for his second six. However, he was unable to build on this and secure a substantial score. On the 81st ball, Olly Stone took his revenge, leading to a minor collapse in the innings.

Here’s what Phil Salt said

Phil alt was rightfully selected as the Match Hero after his stunning performance in the match. As the MCR won the match, Salt took time to address the fans in the post match ceremony.

“It’s nice to be on the right side of a run-out like that. Pleased to contribute, tough wicket here and we know it’s bowler-friendly. The results haven’t gone our way. Three games we have lost key moments late on and pleasing to see the way we turned up today.” Sakt said.

“Such is the nature of the game that you have to be on top form for the 12 months, no breaks but the preparations for the upcoming season are on. We are on a mission now to be party spoilers and with the luck we have had in the competition so far, that’s a role we are going to enjoy.” He added.
