Polly Inglis: A Rising Star in New Zealand Cricket

For the three-match ODI series against India that begins later this week, wicketkeeper Polly Inglis has been called up for the first time. Earlier this year, Inglis, 28, who plays for the Otago Sparks in the Women’s Super Smash, signed her first central contract with New Zealand Cricket (NZC).

After returning from maternity leave in July, batter Lauren Down was also added to the 15-man roster. The sole alteration to the team that helped New Zealand win their first Women’s T20 World Cup was the addition of the two players.

Off Spinner Leigh Kasperek has been left out of the winning squad, while fast bowler Rosemary Mair has been rested in consideration of her workload management after returning from a significant back ailment.

In the three-match, one-day series between England A and New Zealand A, which they won 2-1, she also scored 103.

“Touring India is one of the great experiences in world cricket. It’s such a special place to come and I know everyone is looking forward to the challenge ahead.”She stated. The Women’s Championship includes the three ODIs that will be played in Ahmedabad. After a three-match series against Australia, New Zealand is now sixth in the standings.
