Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the New NCA:

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will hold its 93rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Bengaluru on September 29. At the end of the month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the newly constructed National Cricket Academy (NCA), situated on the outskirts of Bengaluru. This state-of-the-art facility is anticipated to enhance cricket training and development, marking a significant milestone for Indian cricket.

A source said, “ Yes, the new NCA will be inaugurated during the board’s AGM at Bengaluru, most likely by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The likely date for the BCCI AGM is Sept 27.”

In the coming days, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah will issue a circular to all affiliated units, inviting them to the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM). This circular will also include the agenda for the meeting. The notice will ensure that all units are informed of the key discussion points and preparations required for the AGM, providing a comprehensive overview of what to expect during the annual gathering.

AGM May Elect New BCCI Secretary:

The upcoming AGM holds added importance as Jay Shah is poised to become the ICC chairman on December 1, which may lead to the election of a new BCCI secretary. Potential candidates for the position include IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal, Gujarat Cricket Association Secretary Anil Patel, BCCI Treasurer Ashish Shelar, and DDCA President Rohan Jaitley. 

Additionally, Jay Shah recently shared his vision for the new National Cricket Academy (NCA) set to launch on the outskirts of Bengaluru. This development underscores the BCCI’s commitment to advancing cricket infrastructure and training facilities.

Jay Shah further said, ” I had laid the foundation stone for the new NCA in 2022 in Bengaluru. We got that land in 2008. I am lucky that this was written in my destiny,” Shah had said. He had revealed that the new NCA’s facilities will be “100%” open for use to India’s top Olympic athletes too. “I spoke to Neeraj Chopra and offered him to use our new NCA’s facilities in the future.”
