Drama unfolded in the final over of the game as Lucknow Super Giants completed a thrilling victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore on the final ball of the game. RCB were confident of winning the game when they put on a total of 212 in the first innings. However, a collective effort from Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran, and young Ayush Badoni saw LSG coming out on top on the final ball of the game. It was a nightmare of a day for the bowlers as it was a day for sixes and fours. The Purple Cap has not seen too many changes after the game.Â
Wood back at the top
Lucknow Super Giants’ star pacer Mark Wood was 100% fit today and made it back into the Playing XI. In a game where bowlers were being hammered for sixes and fours, Wood gave away just 32 runs in the over. He also managed to thrash the stumps of Glenn Maxwell to pick up his only wicket of the game. He is now back at the top with 9 wickets in 3 games and is now wearing the Purple Cap on his head. This is the fourth consecutive day the Purple Cap has changed heads.
Bishnoi wicketless
Ravi Bishnoi went wicketless tonight as RCB’s batters dominated the game. Despite this, he has retained his fourth position on the Purple cap with 6 wickets in 4 games. RCB’s Mohammed Siraj was the bowler of the day as he picked up figures of 3 for 22 in a high-scoring game. With these figures, he has now 5 wickets in 3 games and is seated at the tenth spot on the Purple Cpa list.Â
