Few days ago, it had been reported that the RCB team would sport blue jersey to honour the covid warriors who had fought hard for the sake of mankind for the last 18 months.

Virat Kohli, unveiling the jersey on Saturday in a virtual conference, said, “India has been battling Covid-19 on a war footing. While vaccination has being going on at a great pace, the frontline workers are the ones bearing the burden of helping us move past this pandemic.” He continued, “We have great respect and admiration for these workers and would like to assist these heroes in our own little way to spread awareness. We are all in this fight together and we need to work together to help humanity move forward.”

Today after winning the toss against KKR, he once again spoke about it. He said, “This one’s special, we promised back in May that we’ll play for the Covid warriors, here it is – we’ll auction this uniform and the proceeds will go to them.”

Meanwhile, RCB decided to bat first against KKR in their opening match of the second leg of the IPL 2021 in the UAE. At present, RCB are in the third place of the points table while KKR are struggling at the seventh position.
