RCB vs RR: Yuzuvendra Chahal Makes New Record, Becomes Highest Wicket Taker For Both RR and RCB

The seventy second match for IPL 2024 is being held between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bowl first. The move is a well thought out one, considering how the dew affects batting in the first innings of a match.

Today’s match is an eliminator, and as the name suggests, the losing team will get eliminated from the IPL 2024 season, despite coming close to the trophy.

Chahal holds the same record for both teams

If there’s one thing Rajasthan Royals can gloat about, it’s that Yuzi Chahal is in their team. The player was the highest wicket taker for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and has achieved the same record for RR in today’s match.

Chahal took Virat Kohli’s wicket today after his ex-teammate and star batsman had scored 33 runs off of 24 bowls. Kohli is an opening batsman for RCB along with RCB captain Faf du Plessis.

The ex-RCB leg-spinner has broken his tie with Siddharth Trivedi to go to the top in RR.

Additionally, RR’s Rovman Powell became the first fielder to bag four catches in an IPL playoffs game, with taking 4 catches today in RRvsRCB

RCB’s batting innings

RCB could not score a lot of runs today and got restricted at 172 runs, while losing 8 wickets.

Rajat Patidar scored the most number of runs today for RCB with 34 runs off of 22 bowls, with a strike rate of 154.55. His score is followed by Virat Kohli who scored just a run less, I.e. 33 runs with a strike rate of 137.5.

Rajasthan’s bowling and fielding have both turned out top notch in today’s match and we’re yet to see which ‘Royal’ team gets to win today.
