Rishabh Pant Quashes RCB Move Rumors, Lashes Out at Social Media User for Spreading Misinformation

In a recent incident, India’s returning wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant expressed his anger towards an X (formerly Twitter) user for allegedly spreading misinformation about his potential move to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) ahead of the IPL Mega Auction. Pant strongly condemned the rumors and called out the user for creating an “untrustworthy environment” with fake news.

Rumors of Pant’s Move to RCB

The controversy began when an X user, @Rajiv1841, posted news of Rishabh Pant moving from the Delhi Capitals to the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The user claimed to have a source close to RCB and alleged that the move was opposed by Virat Kohli due to his influence in the franchise and the Indian Cricket Team.

” Rishabh Pant approached RCB – Pant approached RCB through his manager earlier this week as he foresee a captaincy vacancy there but got declined by RCB’s management. Virat doesn’t want Pant in RCB due to his Political Tactics in Indian team as well as in DC. – RCB Source”, wrote the user in his post.

Pant’s Furious Response

Pant, who recently made a comeback to the Indian Test team with a century against Bangladesh, was furious about the rumors. He quashed all such speculations and called out the user for spreading fake news. In his reply, Pant wrote:

Pant’s Retention with Delhi Capitals

Despite the rumors, recent reports suggest that Delhi Capitals (DC) have decided to retain Rishabh Pant for the IPL 2025 season. There were speculations about the possibility of the franchise releasing him ahead of the auction.

Pant was first retained by Delhi Capitals for INR 16 crore during the IPL 2022 mega auction, but his salary could see an increase this time due to the increased purse value for all franchises. If BCCI establishes a rule permitting teams to retain five players, Delhi Capitals could retain Pant along with Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Jack Fraser McGurk, and Tristan Stubbs.
