The IPL 2024 is on its way to be wrapped for one more season. The last few games left and the competition got extremely intense. The calculations are going on almost every season. At that moment, every match is crucial. In the last match, Delhi Capitals met Royal Challengers but they faced a defeat at the end. DC skipper Rishabh Pant missed the fixture because of the suspension. After the defeat, Delhi Capitals’ Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly talked about the impact of Pant’s absence.
Rishabh Pant’s Suspension and Ganguly’s Words:
After coming back from a life-threatening accident at the end of 2022, Rishabh Pant came into action in the IPL 2024. After coming back after a long break, Pant looked in same old charm. But in the last match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he faced a setback being suspended. The BCCI has taken strict action against Delhi Capitals’ captain, Rishabh Pant, suspending him for one match and imposing a hefty fine of ₹30 lakh. Pant faced consequences for his team’s slow over rate, marking the third breach of the IPL Code of Conduct this season. The penalty was incurred during DC’s recent match against Rajasthan Royals in Delhi.
Pant’s absence made a huge impact in the last game against RCB. Bengaluru hammered DC with a 47-run win. On May 14, Delhi Capitals will face Lucknow Super Giants. Before that, DC’s Director of Cricket, Sourav Ganguly reflected on Pant’s absence in the last game. He said, “Yesterday yes (if DC lost because of Pant’s absence), Rishabh makes a big difference to our batting.”
