After a significant break from Test cricket, the Indian team is gearing up for their Test series against Bangladesh, starting on September 19. During the conference, he also explained his approach to selecting the playing XI from the squad. Sharma discussed the criteria and considerations he uses to make these crucial decisions, offering insight into how he plans to balance the team and set the stage for a successful series.

He said, “ Some things are straight forward, don’t have to think too much. When we select an XI, we look what people have done in the past, runs, wickets, experience an individual brings to the table, impact a player can have. We discuss based on what we feel is right is in terms of individual player. Some things are right in front of you.”

Rohit Sharma Also Talked About Full Fit Squad:

Rohit Sharma also highlighted the full fitness of the squad. Unlike the previous series against England, where injuries and unavailability of key players affected the team, this time all major players are fit and available. Their return strengthens the squad significantly, enhancing India’s chances as they head into the series against Bangladesh with a fully equipped team ready for the challenge.

He added, “ When we played the last series in India, lot of players were injured, unavailable and they missed it due to various reasons. There are injuries, few players are at NCA but majority of them are here. We’ve got to pick an eleven based on how we want to play and which gives us a best chance to win the Test.”
