In the 19th game of the T20 World Cup, India and Pakistan locked horns in a thrilling game. The entire world was anticipating for an extraordinary rivalry between these teams. But in this match, Team India didn’t bat as per their desire. They got out only in 119 runs. Among all the disappointing batting performances, Rishabh Pant scored 42 runs in 31 balls.

While talking about the performance, skipper Rohit Sharma said, “We didn’t bat well enough. Halfway through our innings we were in good position. We didn’t put enough partnership there and fell short with the bat.”

While talking about the pitch, Rohit said, “We spoke about every run matters on a pitch like that. There was enough in the pitch. Was a good wicket to be honest, compared to the last game.”

Praising the bowling performances:

After scoring 119 runs in the first innings, they needed to defend that small total. The job was not easy but bowlers made it possible. Bumrah’s dismissal of Rizwan at a pivotal moment turned the game in India’s favor. Following suit, Bumrah and Hardik’s stellar bowling secured 3 and 2 wickets respectively, sealing the match. Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel also chipped in with a wicket each, contributing to India’s victorious performance.

While praising that exciting performance, he said, “With a bowling lineup like that you feel confident to do the job. Halfway through the stage when they were batting, we got everyone together and said that if it can happen to us, it can happen to them. Little contribution from everyone can make huge difference.”

Lauding Bumrah’s Excellence and Thanking Fans:

Behind team India’s 6-run win, Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling performance was an asset. He secured three crucial wickets by conceding only 14 runs. That gave a big hope to India’s performance. While praising Bumrah, Rohit said, “He’s going from strength to strength (Bumrah). We all know what he can do. Not going to talk too much about him. Want him to be in that mindset throughout the WC. He’s a genius, we all know that.”
