Ravindra Jadeja, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from India are now officially retiring from the shortest format of International cricket. Australian legend David Warner has also embraced the inevitable and announced his retirement from the format.

New Zealand’s Trent Boult, Bangladesh’s Mahmudullah, Namibia legend David Wiese, Netherlands player Sybrand Engelbrecht and Uganda captain Brian Masaba are now all officially retired.

Apart from the players, the T20 World Cup also marked the end of Rahul Dravid’s position as team India’s head coach. Dravid had failed to bring the same trophy home back in 2007 as the team’s captain but he managed to work wonders as the team’s coach.

Team India to return back home at 6:00 AM IST on Thursday

The T20 world champions, team India squad with their support staff and some BCCI members including the secretary Jay Shah were stranded in Barbados due to the hurricane Beryl.

While South Africa returned back home soon, India’s departure got delayed due to the various post-winning celebrations and formalities they had to do. With the approaching hurricane, Barbados closed all incoming and outgoing routes for commuting.

However, BCCI has arranged for a special flight that will carry the whole team and the BCCI members and their families to return to the players’ homeland. Team India will get felicitated in a special ceremony in India as well.

The whole India squad as well as their support staff is promised a prize money with the sum amounting to 125 crores by the BCCI.
