Rohit Sharma Wakes Up to T20 World Cup Trophy by His Side, Shares Morning Snapshot

June 29th has been written in the golden letters forever. After 11 years of wait, India lifted the long-desired trophy. In the whole T20 World Cup, Team India delivered an outstanding performance and lifted the trophy with an unbeaten streak. After the heartbreaking defeat in the last ODI World Cup, Rohit Sharma and Co. created history on Carribien soil.  After winning the trophy, their celebration was a treat to the eyes. They cherished every moment of it. Skipper Rohit Sharma slept with the trophy and shared a selfie with that.

After having an excellent tournament, India and South Africa locked horns at the Kensington Stadium in the final match. The match was exciting as the thrilling encounter went to the last ball. In the first innings, when India batted, Virat Kohli scored an excellent half-century and played a knock of 76 runs that boosted the team’s total. In the last innings, Indian bowlers struggled a bit but ended up in a dominating way. Hardik Pandya’s last match brilliance sealed the match and India lifted the trophy with a 7-run victory. 

After winning the T20 World Cup trophy in the inaugural season in 2007, Rohit Sharma and CO. lift it up for the second time. That was a huge moment for the team and the entire nation. India captain Rohit Sharma woke up the morning after their T20 World Cup 2024 victory to find the trophy beside him in his hotel room in Barbados.

Celebrating their ICC tournament win, Sharma posted a photo on his Instagram showing him waking up with the T20 World Cup trophy beside him in bed. Sharing this photo, the Indian skipper wrote, “Morning Everybody”.

Rohit Sharma’s Good Bye to T20Is:

Rohit Sharma finally ended his quest for a title as captain of the Indian team. Finishing his T20I career as the highest run-scorer of all time with 4231 runs, Sharma also holds the record for the most centuries in T20I cricket with five. Additionally, he has scored 32 half-centuries at an impressive strike rate of 140. He accumulated 257 runs in 8 matches at a blistering strike rate of 156.70, showcasing his ability to dominate the game from the outset. 

While announcing the retirement, he said, “That was my last game as well. Honestly, I have enjoyed it since the time I started playing this format. There is no better time to say goodbye to this format. I have loved every moment of it. I started my India career playing this format. This is what I wanted to do. win the Cup and say.”
