These underwhelming statistics highlighted his struggles, both as a bowler and batsman, during a challenging season for the Mumbai Indians.
RP Singh on Hardik Pandya:
Despite his recent form, Hardik Pandya was selected for the Indian squad in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Former fast bowler RP Singh emphasized that Pandya must deliver his full quota of four overs in the tournament, highlighting the crucial role his all-round abilities will play in India’s campaign. He said, “ Hardik bowled in the IPL and bowled four overs so there’s no injury scare. Hardik’s bowling will be important and he will have to bowl all his quota of 4-overs.”
Speculation about Hardik Pandya’s fitness arose during the first half of the IPL due to his limited bowling. However, as the tournament advanced, he gradually increased his bowling workload, dispelling some concerns and demonstrating his improving fitness.
Singh highlighted that having Shivam Dube as a bowler for India could be a significant asset for the 2007 champions. His presence is expected to enhance the team’s performance, adding a new dimension to their strategy and strengthening their chances in the competition. He said, “If Shivam Dube bowls too, then it will be an added advantage for India ahead. Shivam may not play some matches initially but whenever he plays, he will perform well and score runs for India.”
