Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar thanks all the India Olympic coaches on guru purnima. Tenduklkar also wished them for Paris Olympics 2024. India aims to surpass its seven-medal count from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Their last medal haul comprised one gold, two silver, and four bronze medals.
The 33rd Summer Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11 in Paris and 16 other French cities. Also, this will be the third time Paris hosts the Games, following 1900 and 1924, making it the second city after London to do so three times.

Guru Purnima is celebrated as a vital occasion for enhancing one’s life. Many people visit their respected gurus to offer gifts according to their means. The day is dedicated to honoring these spiritual guides. It reflects the belief that showing respect to them brings positive changes and blessings.
With this in mind, Sachin took to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to thank all the olympics coaches. These coaches are helping the Indian athletes for the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024.
“With the Olympics approaching, I would like to thank all coaches in Olympic sports for their dedication and inspiration. The nation is deeply thankful for your contributions. My best wishes to all the coaches and their players at the Paris Olympics,” the 51-year-old said.
Sachin thanks his childhood coach
In the same social media post, Tendulkar wrote a message remembering his childhood coach Achrekar Sir.
“Guru Purnima is the day we thank our gurus for their deep commitment to making a difference in our lives. Today, I remember and thank Achrekar Sir for the difference he made in my life.Achrekar Sir was a Dronacharya awardee for his contributions to cricket.” Sachin said.
“His dedication to the sport and his players was unparalleled. Just like him, many coaches are working tirelessly towards the betterment of sports in India,” the former cricketer added.
The events of Paris Olympics 2024 will be held at 35 venues, featuring iconic Paris landmarks. Fans can enjoy beach volleyball beneath the Eiffel Tower and equestrian events at the Palace of Versailles. The opening ceremony will showcase athletes parading across the Seine. Additionally, some events will be held outside Paris in various locations across France.
