Sachin Tendulkar Weighs in on England’s Shocking Loss to Afghanistan: Spin Woes Lead to Downfall

The World Cup is full of surprises. The whole tournament is unpredictable. Every team has equal chances to be on the winning side. There are some favorites in the tournament but another team can also do something unpredictable. Big names like Australia and England are facing trouble in the tournament. Australia lost their first two matches. England lost their first match against New Zealand, then won the match against Bangladesh, and faced a disappointing win against Afghanistan last night. After that loss, Sachin Tendulkar talked about this.

Sachin’s words:

England is one of the strongest teams in the World Cup. They were the defending champions of the World Cup trophy. In the final match of the 2019 World Cup, England won their maiden World Cup trophy by defeating New Zealand in a super over. That World Champion started this tournament with a loss against the tournament.

They faced a defeat against Afghanistan last night. It was highly disappointing. They failed to chase 285 runs in 50 overs. It is highly unexpected from a team like England. They have a good side, quality batter, and bowler but somehow they are lacking somewhere. Their form is not just up to the mark.

After the loss, Sachin Tendulkar talked about it on social media. On his social media, he said, “ Wonderful all-round effort by Afghanistan led by a solid knock from @RGurbaz_21. Bad day for @ECB_Cricket. Against quality spinners, you have to read them from their hand, which the England batters failed to do. They read them off the pitch instead, which I felt led to their downfall. Loved the energy they carried on the field. Well played @ACBofficials!”
