Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice his frustration, stating, “One important reason why Virat’s average has slipped to 48 now is the unfortunate weakness outside off. But more crucially, his adamance to not try another way to tackle it.”

Manjrekar questioned Kohli’s delayed adaptation to his approach. Sanjay highlighted his persistent problem. And also emphasised Kohli’s lack of conviction and his double-mindedness while attempting to play it.
