Saurashtra Announce Squad for 2024-25 Ranji Trophy Season, Jaydev Unadkat to Lead

The Saurashtra Cricket Association has announced their 15-member squad for the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season, with veteran left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat set to captain the side. Unadkat, who previously led Saurashtra to Ranji Trophy titles in the 2019-20 and 2022-23 seasons, will be aiming for another successful campaign.

Joining Unadkat in the squad is seasoned batsman Cheteshwar Pujara, who is set to play his 20th Ranji Trophy season. Pujara, a former mainstay in India’s Test squad, has been out of national contention since the 2023 World Test Championship final. With this season, he hopes to strengthen Saurashtra’s batting lineup and possibly make a case for his return to the national setup, especially ahead of the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.

The wicketkeeping duties will be shared between the emerging Harvik Desai, seasoned campaigner Sheldon Jackson, and the uncapped Tarang Gohel. All-rounders Chirag Jani and Prerak Mankad will also play pivotal roles, with their consistent performances being crucial for the team’s balance.

Saurashtra’s spin attack will be led by Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, one of the standout performers from the previous Ranji season with 41 wickets. He will be supported by a mix of young talent and experienced players.
