Bangladesh’s star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan once again found himself in the spotlight for the wrong reasons during the fifth day of the first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. Known for his occasional temper issues on the field, Shakib lost his cool when Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan took his time to get ready for a delivery.
Frustrated with what he perceived as time-wasting tactics by Rizwan, Shakib, who was bowling the 33rd over of Pakistan’s second innings, threw the ball towards Rizwan. However, the ball flew over Rizwan’s head, leading to the on-field umpire scolding Shakib for his unsportsmanlike behavior.

Bangladesh’s Performance in the Match
Bangladesh had put Pakistan under pressure with a 117-run lead in the first innings. Despite losing eight wickets for just 118 runs in the second innings, Pakistan managed to stay in the game, largely due to Rizwan’s resilience at the crease.
Earlier in the match, Bangladesh had posted an impressive total of 565 runs, with key contributions from Mushfiqur Rahim (191), Shadman Islam (93), Mehidy Hasan Miraz (77), Litton Das (56), and Mominul Haque (50). Pakistan’s bowlers struggled to make regular breakthroughs on a pitch that was later criticized by pacer Naseem Shah for not providing enough assistance to the hosts.
