Watson on current situation
The news of two CSK players getting infected once again raised the eyebrows of IPL enthusiasts. The future of the league is being discussed once again amid all the uncertainness. Meanwhile, the CSK opening batsman Shane Watson, in a video uploaded on his official Instagram page shared his thoughts on the same. “It’s been an interesting time to be in lockdown again for another seven days, but this is the ever-changing world that we live in.” Watson added, “We all have to do what we possibly can to stay safe, to limit the spread of Covid-19 throughout the IPL tournament because it is the best T20 tournament in the world. All players, all fans, want it to go ahead.”
While he promised, “I’ll do whatever we have to do to make sure that IPL goes ahead,” he also added, “It is a situation that has made everyone realise how integral and important it is for everyone to BCCI’s and IPL Governing Council’s bio-security protocols because something like this can create a hiccup to start things off.”
Watson on Raina
Shane Watson hoped that nothing sort of this would further happen and the tournament would have a seamless one. He also said a few words on his dear teammate Suresh Raina who had decided to quit the league citing personal issues. “I woke up this morning to the really sad news that Suresh Raina is heading back to India for personal reasons. My heart goes out to you Suresh, I hope you’re going okay mate. You are gonna be sorely missed for CSK.”
Referring to him as a ‘star’ and the ‘heartbeat’ of CSK, Watson commented, “You have been the star for CSK, you are the heartbeat of the team and you are also gonna be missed by IPL tournament as well. You are such a star of the IPL but most important is your well-being and I hope you are gonna be okay.”
