The Indian men’s cricket team is moving ahead in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 with 3 victories in the 3 matches they have played, with small margins in 2 of these matches. The men in blue are at the top in the Group A points table with 6 points to their name as they look forward to a match against Afghanistan on 20 June as their first match of the Super Eight. India is currently scheduled to play against Canada for their last match of the group stage but chances seem pretty slim for the match to even take place, as it’s raining in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Shivam Dube praises Captain Rohit Sharma
Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube has opened up about his feelings towards the Indian captain Rohit Sharma. The left-handed batsman has idolised Rohit for his fearless and effortless batting style and positive outlook in life.
Shivam Dube said “Rohit Sharma is a very positive person. I like to watch his batting, he is so effortless. I learned a lot from him”.
Shivam and Rohit’s turbulent performance in the World Cup
As Shivam Dube got selected to represent India in the T20 World Cup this year, high hopes had been set on the young player due to his skills. However, Dube has not been able to showcase his skills in the tournament, as he got out easily in the team’s first 2 matches.
Dube had an average performance in India against USA when he formed a winning partnership with Surya Kumar Yadav, who more or less carried the team on his back.
In a similar fashion, Shivam’s batting idol Rohit Sharma has also not performed well in the matches India has played.Sharma is team India’s opening batter in the series alongside veteran batsman Virat Kohli who again, has not performed well in the tournament so far.
