Shreyas Iyer Spreads Joy in Lucknow by Hiding Cold Drinks in his Shirt and Sharing with Local Kids

As cricket enthusiasts gather in Lucknow for the Irani Cup, Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer has captured hearts with a heartwarming gesture. While practicing at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Iyer took a moment to connect with local children, sharing cold drinks on a hot afternoon.

A Gesture of Kindness

On a sweltering day with temperatures reaching 32 degrees Celsius and humidity at 75%, Iyer was unable to resist the opportunity to bring some relief to the children watching from beyond the boundary. After noticing them during practice, he discreetly hid bottles of cold drink in his T-shirt and made his way over to the kids.

The act occurred around 12:30 PM as Iyer was fielding at slip alongside teammate Prithvi Shaw. After retrieving the drinks from a nearby cart, he approached the children, greeted them warmly, and handed out the beverages while encouraging them to enjoy their time. “Stay playful, it’s very hot,” he remarked.
