Shreyas Iyer’s Hustle Against the Short Balls: India Gears Up for the Challenge Against Sri Lanka

The World Cup extravaganza is going on. This edition of the tournament is organized in India.  Every part of India is experiencing the excitement of the tournament. They are playing outstandingly. Team India is the only unbeaten team in the tournament till now. They are on the top of the points table. In the next match, they will meet Sri Lanka. Team India is hustling hard before the match. 

Shreyas Iyer in the Net:

India is all set to take on Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Team India has reached Mumbai the day before today. They scored 12 points in the tournament. Semi-Finals are almost set for them. Three more matches remained for them. After winning in any one of them, they will be directly qualifying for the next step. All the players are hustling hard on the nets before the clash. 

Shreyas Iyer is also hustling hard. He has tension over the short ball. That has always been a problem for him. Even in the last match, he got out in a short ball. Chris Woakes was excellent with the new ball.  It was in between the length in which Iyer went for a pull shot. It ended up going on top and went towards the mid-on. Mark Wood took the catch. This time he is hustling hard with the short ball.

In the last match against England, losing the toss India went to bat first. They have a dicey start. Shubman Gill got out early by scoring 9 runs. Virat Kohli went out on a duck. It was a setback for the team. After that, Shreyas Iyer was dismissed by scoring 4 runs. Rohit Sharma was outstanding. He played a pure captain’s knock. He scored 87 runs in 101 balls. That helped the team win. KL Rahul played a knock of 39 runs. Suryakumar Yadav was excellent. He scored 49 runs. They scored 229/9 in 50 overs.

In the second innings, Indian bowlers were on fire. Jasprit Bumrah took 3 wickets in 32 runs. Mohammad Shami picked up 4 wickets in 22 runs. Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets in 24 runs. Ravindra Jadeja took 1 wicket in 16 runs. 

On November 1, India will be locking horns with Sri Lanka. This is going to be a classic fixture. Sri Lanka is not in a convincing position. They have three matches remaining. If they want to qualify for the semi-finals, they have to win all the matches. On the other side, India is on the safe side. To qualify for the semi-finals, India needs to win in 1 match.
