India and South Africa are all set to give effect to a 3-match T20I series which will commence tomorrow i.e. December 10 in Durban, South Africa. The T20I series is a preparation for the upcoming 2024 World Cup in the T20 format. The series have been also planned in an effort to look into the players potentiality and judge them as capable of playing the 2024 World Cup.
India’s emerging talent and sensational cricketer Rinku Singh has been attracting a lot of attention with his dominant display of performance in the recently concluded 5-match T20I series against Australia. He effortlessly took up the role of a finisher, guiding team India to victory with a streak of 4-1. He posted a total of 105 runs off 60 balls in a total of 4 matches he played.
Message received from the Indian Coach
As Rinku Singh is currently in South Africa for the T20I series, in a chat with BCCI.tv, the brilliant finisher opened up about getting a message from Team India present Head Coach Rahul Dravid who asked him to keep believing in himself. He revealed the message by Dravid who said “Do what you have been doing so far and believe yourself.” He said “your position is No. 5 where batting is not easy but keep believing in yourself.”
On batting at No.5, Rinku Singh further reflected and remarked “I’ve been playing at No. 5 since 2013. I played for UP at the same position and I know it’s not easy. You have to bat when the top 3-4 batters are out and you need to put a partnership. So, I try to keep myself calm as much as I can.”
Gill’s interruption
It was during this chat when Shubman Gill, another sensational batter who will make a T20 comeback after being put at rest owing to a hectic World Cup campaign, hilariously interrupted Rinku saying “Bandar kata hai isiliye tez bhagta hai.” Gill out of nowhere came behind Rinku, standing and smiling bursted with this statement which is taking upon the internet now.
