Simone Biles Relives Her Olympic Glory and Misses Her Pup
Simone Biles is still buzzing with excitement from the 2024 Paris Olympics.
On August 14, the 27-year-old gymnast shared some joyful photos on Instagram, including one of her performing midair splits in her sparkly Team USA leotard.
She also posted a sweet picture of her French Bulldog, Lilo, with the caption, “Missed this little face.”
After winning four medals, Simone said she’s proud of her achievements, especially since she wasn’t sure she’d return to the Olympics a few years ago.
A Historic Legacy in Gymnastics
Simone Biles is one of the most decorated gymnasts in history. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, she made history by becoming the first American woman to win two Olympic all-around and vault titles. This achievement places her alongside VÄ›ra Čáslavská, who last accomplished this feat in 1968. Biles also won a silver medal on floor and led the U.S. team, nicknamed the “Golden Girls,” to a gold medal.
Throughout her career, Biles has won an astounding six World all-around titles, six World floor exercise titles, four World balance beam titles, and two World vault titles. She has also been part of the gold-winning U.S. teams at multiple World Championships. In 2019, she broke the record for the most World Championship medals, surpassing Vitaly Scherbo with a total of 30 medals. Biles is the first American female gymnast to win a World medal in every event.
In 2022, President Joe Biden awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She also won her eighth U.S. Gymnastics title in 2023, setting a new record. Biles has been named the Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year three times and won the Comeback of the Year award in 2024.
