SRI LANKA’S DUNITH WELLALAGE MAKES HEADS TURN WITH FIVE KNOCKOUTS

In what has been seen during today’s match between India and Sri Lanka, a momentous and eye captivating moment comes ahead for all the fans out there. This came with Sri Lanka’s continuous knock outs against India by Dunith Wellalage

Who is Dunith Wellalage? 

The 20-year old Dunith, is Sri Lankan team’s left arm spinner who has proved himself quite effectively, in today’s face off against India. Wellalage made his international cricket debut just an year before and in less than a year, he has surely created a historic moment in cricket for his native country. 

Dunith dismissed all the five Indian batters namely Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubhman Gill, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya in his bowling overs against all of them. 

How did it happen? 

Senior opener and Captain Rohit Sharma definitely started with being in a good form, but as the ball sneaked behind his bat, he got out after chasing 53 runs of 48 balls.

Virat Kohli, who delivered his 47th century yesterday against it’s clash with Pakistan, got dismissed at just 3 runs. After such a grand performance by Kohli in yesterday’s match, fans were rather seen in disbelief. 

Now comes the third exit of young sportsman, Shubhman Gill who was left in awe. The ball delivered to Gill hit straight on the top of off stump with Dunith making him leave the field at 19 runs. 

The fourth wipe off was KL Rahul who had again played well against Pakistan yesterday. It was a full length delivery but this time it turned into a catch out with Dunith delivering continuous and mind striking wickets.

Lastly, the fifth wicket haul was of Hardik Pandya. With the fifth wicket again being a catch out by Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis, Dunith Wellalage knew that he was onto something extraordinary. 

As of now, India has chased a target of 213 runs for Sri Lanka. It is yet to see that which team emerge as winners today.
