Indian player Sanju Samson has unveiled the logo. The auction for the upcoming tournament is set to be held on August 10. The Kerala Cricket League will be officially launched by iconic actor and brand ambassador Mohanlal on August 31, 2024.

The Kerala Cricket Association unveiled the official logo of the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) at a special ceremony. Sanju Samson, an international cricketer and KCL icon, revealed the logo. The ceremony included presentations of the logos for each participating franchise.

The auction for the league will take place on August 10, and matches are scheduled to be held at the Greenfield International Stadium from September 2 to 19. The event marked a significant step in the league’s preparation, showcasing the logos of individual franchises and setting the stage for the upcoming season.

In a press release, KCA said, “The player auction for the Kerala Cricket League is scheduled for Saturday, at the Hyatt Regency, starting at 10 AM. The auction briefing was conducted by the renowned Charu Sharma, followed by a mock auction to familiarize the franchises with the process.”

Later it added, ‘Fans can look forward to two thrilling games each day, including day and night matches. The league will officially be launched by the legendary actor and KCL brand ambassador, Mohanlal, on 31st August 2024, at 12 noon at the Hyatt Regency.”

The Auction is Set of Aug 10:

The Kerala Cricket League player auction will take place on August 10, 2024, starting at 10 AM. Charu Sharma, a well-known commentator, provided a briefing to the franchises, and a mock auction was conducted to help them understand the process. A total of 168 players are shortlisted for the auction, with each franchise set to pick 20 players.

The auction will feature three categories. Category A includes players with IPL and Ranji Trophy experience, with a base salary of Rs. 2 lakh. Category B features CK Naidu, U-23, U-19 State, and U-19 Challengers players, with a base salary of Rs. 1 lakh. Category C is for U-16 state players, university players, and club cricketers, with a base salary of Rs. 50,000.

Broadcasts will be available on Star Sports 2 in HD, with digital streaming options to be announced. Spanning 19 days, including two reserve days, the league will showcase 33 matches among six teams. Only players registered in Kerala will be eligible to participate.

Star Players and the Noble Cause:

The league has already selected its icon players like P.A. Abdul Basit for the Trivandrum Royals, Sachin Baby for the Kollam Sailors, Mohammad Azharuddin for the Alleppey Ripples, Basil Thambi for the Kochi Blue Tigers, Vishnu Vinod for the Thrissur Titans, and Rohan S Kunnammal for the Calicut Globestars.

The Kerala Cricket Association has generously donated one crore rupees to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support victims of the Wayanad disaster. Additionally, the association is rallying support from key figures in the cricket world to offer further aid.
