Steve Smith and Maxwell’s Heroics Shines on MLC Final, Washington Freedom Lifted Their Maiden Trophy

Another exciting season of the Major League cricket has been ended. The end was absolutely dreamy because Washinton Freedom sealed the title with their remarkable performances.  The Grand Prairie Stadium witnessed a spectacular game between Maxwell’s heroics shined and Jansen and Rachin Ravindra’s brilliance sealed the game. 

Smith and Maxwell set the stage:

The final match of the Major League Cricket was a treat to the cricket lovers. After being outstanding in the entire group stage, the Freedom defeated Sun Francisco Unicorns in the qualifier and made a direct entry into the finals. They met the San Francisco Unicorns in the final and registered another dominating win over them. 

While batting first, the Freedom lost an early wicket as Travis Head was dismissed on 9 runs. But Steve Smith played a crucial role in this match. In a crucial turn of events, Smith and Maxwell forged a vital partnership, amassing 83 runs from just 39 balls as Freedom accumulated 121 runs in the latter part of their innings. 

Smith delivered a remarkable performance with 88 runs off 52 balls, while Glenn Maxwell contributed 40 runs from 22 balls, showcasing their strong finish. Smith was snubbed from Australia’s T20 World Cup squad. But on this big stage, he redefined his masterclass again.

While chasing the big target of 208, San Francisco Unicorns has been in trouble since the beginning. The Freedom bowlers dominated them throughout. Marco Jansen claimed both opener’s wickets. That was a huge setback. Andrew Taye secured two crucial wickets of Josh Inglis and Coorey Anderson. 

After contributing while batting in the first innings, Maxwell rolled his arms and secured 1 crucial wicket by just conceding 14 runs. But the Kiwi all-rounderRachin Ravindra shined again.
