The SunRisers Eastern Cape have strengthened their squad for the upcoming SA20 Season 3 by signing David Bedingham as a wildcard pick. The defending champions, led by Aiden Markram, are gearing up to retain their title after a successful previous season.
Bedingham, who recently made his Test debut against New Zealand, has been in fine form. He has accumulated 347 runs in four Tests, including a century and two fifties. In the T20 Blast, he has been impressive for Durham, scoring 225 runs in seven games with a strike rate of 163.04 and a high score of 78.
The addition of Bedingham is part of SunRisers Eastern Cape’s strategy to reinforce their batting lineup. They announced the signing of the 30-year-old on their official X account, expressing excitement about his potential contribution to the team.
In addition to Bedingham, SunRisers Eastern Cape have also signed England‘s Zak Crawley, fast bowler Craig Overton, and seasoned Netherlands spinner Roelof van der Merwe. Crawley will be making his debut in the SA20, while van der Merwe returns after being the leading wicket-taker in the first season, with a standout performance of 6/20 against Durban Super Giants.
Craig Overton, recovering from an injury that kept him out last season, will also make his debut in the SA20, looking to make a significant impact for the Gqeberha-based franchise.
