Suryakumar Yadav Reflects on Player of the Match Award, Credits Team Effort and Discipline

With excellence, domination, and some incredible performance, Team India nailed it once again. After conquering the group stage, they carried the domination into the Super Eight stage. In the first match of them, Team India faced Afghanistan and registered an amazing win. Suryakumar Yadav played an impactful knock which gave a huge boost to India’s innings. That knock played a huge role in Team India’s victory. After the match, Suryakumar Yadav won the Player of the Match award and reflected on the match.

While batting in the first innings, the Indian batters struggled a bit initially. Standing on that point, Suryakumar Yadav played a responsible half-century and played a knock of 53 runs in 28 balls. That gave a huge boost to team India’s innings on that crucial point. 

While talking about this, Suryakumar Yadav said, “I think there’s a lot of hard work, there are a lot of processes and routine involved in it. I am clear in my mind what I want to do. I don’t mind giving this Player of the Match to a bowler.”

Winning the POTM as First Indian Batter in This Edition:

In the match against Afghanistan, Suryakumar Yadav showcased his excellence. He played a crucial knock which was beneficial for the team. For his contribution, he won the Player of the Match Award. In this edition, he is the first Indian batter to win this award in this edition of the tournament. With that, he also secured his 15th POTM award.

While talking about this, he said, “First time it’s going to a batter (from India in this tournament), I don’t mind. I think you just need to know your game plan, and just play accordingly.”

While talking about the game plan, he said, “I still remember when Hardik came into the bat, I told him let’s bat with the same intent. Let’s keep pressing the pedal and keep pushing, in the end very happy with a score of 180.”
