The IPL 2024 has become more intense as the tournament comes close to the playoffs. In the 55th match of the IPL, Mumbai Indians locked horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Even after struggling, Mumbai made a remarkable comeback as Suryakumar Yadav scored an unbeaten century. Because of this performance, he became the Player of the match. After that,  Suryakumar Yadav opened up about their innings.

Suryakumar’s Explosive Knock:

The Wankhede Spectators have experienced a thrilling show as Mumbai defeated Hyderabad by 7 wickets. While chasing the target of 174 runs, Mumbai received some early setbacks. They lost the first three wickets consecutively. That was a huge setback for the franchise but they set another excellent example of comeback.

At that point, Mumbai needed an impactful knock. After struggling with his form, Suryakumar Yadav proved why he is called the best T20 batter once again. He held Mumbai’s innings on his shoulder. While carrying the team, he scored an excellent century and remained unbeaten on 102 runs in just 51 balls. That explosive knock helped Mumbai to register a 7-wicket win.

Sky’s Words:

After that extraordinary innings, Suryakumar Yadav won the Player of the Match record. After winning the record, he said, “I have done this after a long time. I fielded for 20 overs and batted for 18 overs, only tired (nothing else to worry about.) I feel it was the need of the hour for me. I went out to bat, needed someone to bat till the end.”

Later he added, “ I just enjoyed my time. It’s from the Mumbai school of arts, have played a lot of cricket at Wankhede. When the ball stopped seaming, I played all my shots that I practice in the nets. I feel the intent would have been the same, I would have definitely played in the same pattern.”
