The Second Season of the Women’s Premier League is Set to be on the Stage, Commencing From February 2024

The whole world is busy with the World Cup. The biggest tournament of cricket will be wrapping up on November 19. After that, there are some other tours. But the year 2024 will be having a rocking start. In February, the Women’s Premier League is likely to be kicked off. Five teams will compete with each other in that tournament.

The Women’s Premier League in 2024: 

The WPL is all set to raise its curtain in February 2024. There is no official announcement for that. According to the sources, the tournament will be played in two cities Mumbai and Bangalore. The format will be the same as the previous edition of the tournament. In a double round-robin format, the teams will be locking with each other. The table topper will be qualifying directly for the finals. Others will be fighting to reach the finals. 

According to a previous report, the tournament was set to be in a home-and-away format. But in recent resources, the tournament will be played in two cities only. The teams will complete their set of matches in one city and will move to another. Those two cities are excited to host the tournament. The auction will be organized in December. 

Look Back to WPL 2023:

WPL started its journey in February 2023. The five teams took part in this tournament. Harmanpreet Kaur was leading Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore was led by Smriti Mandhana, UP Warriorz was led by Alyssa Healy, Gujrat Giants was led by Beth Mooney and Meg Lanning was the captain of Delhi Capitals. The tournament was played only in Mumbai.

Smriti Mandhana’s RCB faced disappointments all over the season. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals locked horns in Mumbai. Both teams played well. But Harmanpreet Kaur rocked the stage. Mumbai Indians became the first winner of the WPL.
