“They need a fast bowler…” Australian Legend Brad Hogg Shares Insights Over Mumbai India’s Needs for Overseas Pacers

The madness for the IPL 2024 has already started to gear up. The auction is just a sleep away. On December 19, the IPL auction will be held in Dubai. The teams are busy doing their last-time homework. In the auction, all team will give their best to make a powerful squad. Just one day before the auction, Australian great Brad Hogg talked about Mumbai India’s bid for the overseas pacers.

Mumbai Indian’s Bowling Strength:

Mumbai Indians is one of the most successful teams of the tournament. They won the IPL trophies five times. From 2013 to 2020, they bagged 5 titles under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. Mumbai Indians have one of the best bowling attacks. India’s legendary pacer Jasprit Bumrah plays for the franchise. He missed the IPL 2023, due to an injury and is ready to conquer in the next edition of the tournament.

Jofra Archer played for the franchise in the previous season. He is an excellent bowler for England. But in the last season, he failed to deliver the best performance. He played only one match after coming back from an injury. Ahead of the next season of IPL, Mumbai Indians released him.

Hogg’s Insight:

As Mumbai Indians released the English star, their primary goal will be to find a substitute for him. MI will be keen to have a powerful pacer who can make a pair with Jasprit Bumrah. The Aussie great Brad Hogg feels, MI could bid for South African pacers like Gerald Coetzee and Chris Morris. Coetzee played exceptionally well in the World Cup 2023. This duo can be targeted by MI.

Brad Hogg Said, “They need a fast bowler, they have been boosted with an Indian all-rounder in Hardik Pandya. They still need someone to complement Bumrah and Behrendorff. I think they will go for Coetzee upfront, they will be hoping to get him cheaply. If not Coetzee, then they will go for Lance Morris. If MI gets both Coetzee and Morris, they will be challenging GT because they will have a very balanced lineup.”
