“They Need To win 5 Out Of Next 6 Matches”: AB de Villiers on MI’s performance in IPL 2024

Former South African player AB de Villiers talked about Mumbai Indians in his YouTube channel AB de Villiers 360. The cricketer turned commentator and YouTuber had the nickname Mr. 360 for being the perfect all rounder.

Villiers had previously taken retirement from all forms of cricket after undergoing an eye surgery that made it really hard for him to play anymore. The former cricketer also said that he will come to Chinnaswamy Stadium for IPL 2024, but not as a player. The former batsman will come to India as a part-time commentator for this season.

AB was also a former player of Royal Challengers Bangalore. Even though the team was not able to win any season as of yet, the team did make it to the finals three times, with the last time back in 2016.

In his statement, de Villiers said: “They just don’t seem to be holding onto anything. Everything is going wrong. But they are still in it and probably need to win five out of their last six games. They have done this before and it’s just about gelling together. Possibly on paper the best team in the IPL”

In their previous IPL match, MI lost against Rajasthan Royals by 9 wickets.

AB calls Yuzvendra Chahal’s Departure From RCB As ‘Heartbreaking’

Several cricketers, including Yuzi Chahal himself have shown their disappointment over Chahals sudden departure from RCB.

Yuzi claims that the management didn’t even let him know that he was being let off the team, even when he entered the auction for IPL 2024. Chahal was later accepted into Rajasthan Royals.

Speaking about the new impact player rule, “It is the batter’s game at the moment. They are having a feast and it does not help that the wickets have been incredibly good at the IPL. I was excited when it (Impact Player) was introduced. It is too early for me to call it, but I personally do not see too much harm to it,” the former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter said.

About Yuzi’s sudden dispersal from the team, he called it a ‘heartbreaking moment’.
