A distressing incident unfolded in Ranchi, Jharkhand when a toddler was kidnapped after her mother was deceived by a group of individuals exploiting the name of cricket superstar Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The criminals used a deceptive scheme to lure the child’s mother into their trap, resulting in the abduction of the one-and-a-half-year-old girl.
Deceptive Scheme Involving MS Dhoni
The incident occurred three days ago when Madhu Devi was shopping with her two children at a stall in Ranchi. It was at this stall that she encountered a man and a woman on a motorcycle who claimed that MS Dhoni was distributing money and houses to the less fortunate.
In a bid to take advantage of the promise of financial aid, Madhu Devi asked if they could take her to the location where this supposed distribution was taking place. The individuals on the motorcycle agreed, and they took Madhu and her young daughter with them. Her eight-year-old daughter was left behind at the food stall.
Upon reaching the electricity office in Harmu, the individuals on the motorcycle informed Madhu that a meeting regarding the distribution of funds was underway inside the building. While her attention was diverted, the kidnappers allegedly seized her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter and quickly fled on their motorcycle.
Police Investigation Underway
Madhu Devi made valiant efforts to chase the abductors but was unable to catch up with them. The police have since registered a case regarding the incident, and an investigation is in progress.
A senior police official mentioned that they are examining all possible angles in their efforts to solve the case. He also highlighted inconsistencies in Madhu’s statements, which are currently being verified.
Initially, Madhu claimed that the kidnappers had informed her about a government scheme aimed at assisting the less fortunate. However, she later altered her statement, stating that they had invoked the name of cricket icon MS Dhoni.
